BIKE COURSE
The Ironman UK Bike course starts with a 14 mile point to point cycle from Pennington Flash in Leigh. The course travels via Westhoughton and Horwich before joining a three lap circuit which starts from Adlington in Lancashire. Travelling anti-clockwise on the loops and taking in 5249 ft of climbing the course visits Rivington, Belmont, Abbey Village, Wheelton, Buckshaw Village, Eccleston and Charnock Richard before rejoining Adlington at the start of the lap. After the third lap athletes turn right off the circuit at Rivington and reach T2 at Rivington and Blackrod High School.

FEED STATIONS
Bike Course Feed Stations: There will be 2 Feed Stations on the bike course located at New Road (Rivington) and Buckshaw Village. There will be an empty bottle drop off before each station, please dispose of your empties into the large bins. The Feed Stations will provide athletes with:
PowerBar Isoactive Isotonic Sports Drink - Lemon
Water
Bananas (cut in half)
PowerBar Energize Bars - Cookies & Cream or Berry Blast Flavours (cut in half)
The drink will be handed out in 700ml sports bottles and the PowerBars will be handed out cut in half (in the wrapper).

PERSONAL NEEDS
At IMUK Bolton a van will collect Bike Only personal needs bags at the T1 bike mount point up until 5am. These bags will be transported to the New Road Rivington feed station where a zone after the feed station will be set up for athletes to pick up their bags. Personal needs bags must be provided by the athlete and be identifiable by the athlete name and race number. No further transport will be provided for the bike special needs bags and no security can be provided. Bags remaining at the end of the race will be disposed of.
