Volunteering at Ironman UK is an exciting way to be part of Ironman UK without racing! There are a lot of roles available.
Below is an example of roles that we are recruiting for:

Registration |
Registration is the first place all the athletes will go when they arrive. You will be required to check the athletes off a list, hand them their items such as race numbers, swim hats etc. This is generally a busy and fun place to work. |

Transition Set Up |
Transition is a busy place to be. Your role here will be to ensure, with the Transition Manager that the area is set up for the athletes before they check their equipment in. This role will involve some lifting and shifting of tables and equipment and laying out Numbers. |

Transition Check In |
Transition is a very busy place over Race Weekend; you will be helping athletes rack their bags and bikes and find the correct hooks for their kit. There are 2 transitions for Ironman UK so extra volunteers are required |

Pasta Party |
The Pasta Party is a chance for all athletes to get together and enjoy a high carbohydrate meal. The Pasta Party is free for all athletes who reserve their ticket. The volunteer role here is to check that everyone entering has a ticket and show them to their seats, assisting with any enquires. The Pasta Party is in the Reebok Stadium. |

Transition (Race Day) |
Transition has very busy times on Race Day. The athletes will leave the swim and enter transition 1 to collect their bags of cycle gear and their bikes. Volunteers are required to assist to the athletes if they need it. Helping find their bags and re-hanging them once they are finished. Once the athletes have completed the cycle, transition 2 then becomes busy; volunteers are required as above and also to catch the bikes from the athletes so they don’t need to rack them themselves (see bike catching below). |

Swim Exit Helper |
As the swimmers exit the water most of them will need a helping hand as they get out. We only require 4/5 volunteers for this role. You will get very wet doing this job and will need your own wetsuit and suitable shoes/socks |

Bike Marshal |
There are various positions around the course where Bike Marshals are needed. Your own transport is an advantage. If you choose to Bike Marshal your details will be passed onto your Chief Road Marshal, who then take over coordinating you. |

Run Marshal |
Although the Run Course is signed we still need marshals to ensure athletes follow the signage and to stop the public walking across the route when athletes are coming. |

Bike Catcher |
This role will suit energetic people, who are not afraid to make themselves heard. You will be taking the bikes from the Competitors as they enter Transition and rack the bike over the competitor’s number. |

Finish Line Helper |
Volunteers are required at the finish area to assist with roles such as handing out finisher t shirts, medals and food. |

Awards Ceremony |
The Awards Ceremony is a chance for all athletes to get together, congratulate themselves and enjoy a meal. The Awards Ceremony is free for all athletes who reserve their ticket. The volunteer role here is to check that everyone entering has a ticket and show them to their seats, assisting with any enquires. The Awards Ceremony is in the Reebok Stadium. |
